Community Foundation of Johnson County

Launched in 2000, the Community Foundation of Johnson County (CFJC) is a 501.c.3 nonprofit organization that builds and manages resources through its various endowments.  Every year, the CFJC awards grants to local nonprofit organizations.

Information Everywhere

The old CFJC website had information - a lot of it.  The problem was that over the years there had been so many additions to the site and new sections added, that there was no clear information architecture anymore.

The first step in redesigning the Community Foundation's website was to totally revamp how they organized their information.  In the end, we were able to fit everything under four easy-to-understand sections.  We also added a search functionality so that users could always find information no matter where it lives.

Simple, Expandable Content Management

The CFJC had a few goals that they wanted to achieve with a redesign of their website.  The first, and most important, was to have the ability to control the content on their website.  They wanted to be able to quickly and easily edit their information.  The solution: Maestro - our Content Management System.

Maestro allows CFJC to easily edit all the text on their website without having to learn or use any code.  They can also publish their latest news & events, upload photos and PDFs.  They can even add pages themselves, meaning complete control over their website.

Modern Design For A Modern Website

Since CFJC was getting the latest in content management technology, we wanted their graphic design to be just as modern.  The challenge was to modernize their look without hurting their established brand identity.  We think the results speak for themselves in the before and after screenshots.
